Gauhati University Withdraws Summer Vacation After Extended Lockdown
GUWAHATI: Given that the educational institutions across the state had been closed down even before the lockdown was announced, the students have been facing various difficulties in their regular academic activities.
Although many institutions have been providing online classes, the same does not measure up to the regular classes of normal days.
The Gauhati University, issued a notice announcing that “the coming summer vacation which falls in the month of
July, has been withdrawn for the University classes and its affiliated Colleges/institutions unless otherwise notified depending on success of containment of spread of the novel coronavirus.”
Further, all regular activities of the university will be resumed once the situation is declared as congenial by the Central and State Governments.
The decision was taken to revamp the academic schedule which has been disrupted due to the 40-days extended lockdown, that has brought uncertainty to the students in particular and the academic community at large.
