Guwahati: AASU Starts Protest over Clause 6 Implementation and Assam Floods

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) has taken up the issue for the implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord. Along with the issue, the apex student union has taken up the issue of big dams, flood-embankment problems. They have further demanded that the annual Assam flood be given a national disaster status. 


A protest was held at Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati from 11 AM to 1 PM. The AASU members also used a black badge in lieu of the protests held acro
ss the state. 


They raised slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government saying, "We don't need false assurances and we just want results."


AASU President Dipanka Nath, Vice President Bipul Rabha, AASU State Executive Raifuddin Ahmed, DibyaJyoti Medhi along 300 protesters participated in the demonstrations.
