Guwahati Blast: East Guwahati Police to hold talks with Bazaar Committee, Mall authorities
GUWAHATI: A day after a blast injured 11 persons in Zoo Road, East Guwahati Police on May 16 has called for an urgent meeting with various stakeholders of the society including Bazaar Committee, Mall authorities, Cinema Hall authorities, Mandir-Masjid Committee.
East Guwahati Police district is considered to be one of the most sensitive areas because of the large number of shopping malls, hotels and other establishments situated in the area.
The jurisdiction of East Guwahati Police covers Dispur, Bhangagarh, Basistha, Hatigaon, Sonapur and Khetri Police Station.
Meanwhile, Guwahati City Police has launched an extensive search operation today (May 16) in connection to the blast in Panjabari area.
As part of the operation, a team under the supervision of DCP (Crime) Deepak Kumar, raided a house in Namghar path in Panjabari and recovered a 9mm pistol and 35 rounds bullets along with items that are used to make grenades. The items were recovered from a woman who was identified as Jahnabi Saikia.
