Guwahati Blast: Police launches search operation in Panjabari
GUWAHATI: Assam police has launched a search operation in the Panjabari area after an explosion rocked the city on Wednesday evening (May 15).
A total of 11 people were injured in the blast that took place in front of Guwahati Central in Zoo Road.
Acting on a tip-off, the city crime branch under the supervision of Deepak Kumar, Guwahati Commissioner of Police, raided a house in Namghar path in Panjabari and recovered a 9mm pistol and 35 rounds bullets along with items which are used to make grenades from a woman who was identified as Jahnabi Saikia.
According to reports, one ULFA leader Pranmoy Rajguru paid frequent visit to Jahnabi.
The police is currently interrogating Jahnabi.
