Guwahati: Gold Worth Rs 4.5 Crore Seized In Khanapara
GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Monday, September 23 seized a huge consignment of gold at Khanapara in Guwahati.
According to reports, the DRI officials in an operation seized 70 gold biscuits weighing around 11.6 kg, worth Rs 4.5 crore in the international market.
The officials have also apprehended five persons in connection to this case.
According to an official at DRI, the gold bars were concealed in secret cavities of two buses travelling from Imphal in Manipur.
Meanwhile, the apprehended have been detained for interrogation.
