Guwahati: Leopards Attack AEC Student, One Allegedly Killed by Locals

GUWAHATI: A student from Assam Engineering College, Hostel 5 Jalukbari, Debabrat Chutia, Civil Engineering, 3rd sem, was brutally attacked by two full grown leopards inside the college campus on December 6, evening. 

The area in which he was attacked was completly dark even though it falls under the college campus. 

He went for evening walk in that area as of daily routine. While completing the first lap, the leopards lashed on him and scratched him on forearms and his chest. When he tried to resist they scratched his face near his mouth.

Hearing his screams, the locals nearby came out and chased away the leopards and rescued him. 

The victim was taken to the Govt Ayurvedic College. According to a student there were two leopards in which one was killed by the locals.

It is to be mentioned that the hostels nearby-Hostel 5,6,7 donot have proper boundary walls to protect the boarders of these hostel from such attacks.
