Guwahati Records 203 Cases in 1 Day, Citizens’ Cooperation Vital: HBS
GUWAHATI: With 273 new COVID-19 cases in Assam, of which 203 are from Guwahati city alone, the state’s total has gone up to 6919.
Of the total cases, 2660 are active cases while 4247 have been cured and discharged; 9 people have died due to the infection in the state so far.
In view of public safety and amid fears of the rapid increase in COVID positive patients, state government has decided to impose a complete lockdown from June 28 midnight for the next 14 days in Kamrup district.
The State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma took to twitter last night at 11:40 pm appealing for cooperation from citizens of Guwahati.
“273 new COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today. Guwahati city alone sees a surge of 203 cases today and time for us to follow lockdown instructions. Your cooperation is vital,” tweeted the minister.
