Guwahati Residents Complain About City Buses Violating Norms

G Plus News | December 03, 2020 12:04 hrs

GUWAHATI: Guwahati residents have complained about city buses violating traffic regulations.

Over 400 WhatsApp complaints were sent to the designated WhatsApp complaint numbers after the service was rolled out in November last year. The complaints include stopping of buses in the middle of the road and overloading.

G Plus spoke to ADCP (Traffic) Pranjit Bora, who stated the difficulties of regulating the buses. "We
are vigilant but not everything can be done by the police. Self-regulation is also required," said Bora.

As per the Traffic Police, some residents of Guwahati try to board the buses in the middle of the road, which blocks the road further.

Mr ADCP (traffic) words are not professional. Had the police personals are strict by themselves they can maintain those unruly bus drivers. The traffic themselves does not follow rules by themselves, how can they contain these unruly bus drivers
