Guwahatian carries out Traffic Awareness Campaign with Guwahati Traffic Police and Vinayak Honda
Shailja Lakhotia, a Guwahatian and a graduate from Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune, in association with Guwahati Traffic Police and Vinayak Honda successfully concluded a Public Service Campaign that aimed to promote safe driving habits in Guwahati city. With various PSA(s) being done in the city, improving road safety have been aggressively pursued to sensitise people of the increasing number of road accidents and mishaps in Guwahati.

For the same, Shailja approached DCP, Traffic Amanjeet Kaur and with Guwahati Traffic Police and Vinayak Honda conducted an awareness program where they put up banners and messages with safety slogans across various puja pandals in the city including Latasil, Maligaon, Pandu, Athgaon, Bishnupur among several others.
Some of the messages were to promote “Don’t drink and drive”, “Avoid tripling”, “Wear a Helmet” among others. The campaign was done both in English and Assamese.
Speaking to Shailja, she said, “GTP has been working aggressively to improve road safety. Added to that, the reason I felt that Honda was the perfect brand to approach was because they give safety the priority. We hope that this effort sees positive results and makes people conscious of ensuring road safety.”
