GUWAHATI: In protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, the members of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) waved black flags at Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma again on February 2 in Dhekiajuli under Sonitpur district.

Sarma was greeted with black flags when he was on his way to Tezpur to take part in the extended executive meeting of Assam BJP. The protesters waving the flags also shouted slogans against the BJP government. Following the incident, police have detained the flag wavers.

The executive Assam BJP meeting will also be attended by CM Sarbananda Sonowal.

It should be noted that black flags were waved at the finance minister on various occasions and in different parts of the state. This is also the case with various senior BJP leaders of Assam including CM Sarbananda Sonowal who was recently the recipient of the black flag waving incident when he went to attend the Me-Dam-Me-Phi festival in North Lakhimpur.
