Himanta is a new convert and dangerous: Tarun Gogoi
GUWAHATI: Congress leader and three-time chief minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi did not mince words and termed his former colleague and now BJP minister Himanta Biswa Sarma a new convert to fundamentalism. He also accused Himanta of trying to divide Assam on communal lines.
Speaking to ThePrint, a new portal the former chief minister said, "Everyone knows Himanta Biswa Sarma and the way he communalised it. He wants Assam to be divided on communal lines, that is hi
s policy. When he was in the Congress, he was secular, but today he has become a fundamentalist. All along he talks only about Jinnahs and Muslims. He is a new convert and new converts are always dangerous.”
