Homeless girl provided with shelter in city

A homeless girl of 18 years who was found crying on the streets, outside Assam State Museum, Ambari, was rescued by cops and provided with shelter. Reportedly, the girl was not in a healthy state of mind and was first found by a rickshaw puller of that area. The girl, was confronted by a lady called Mina Das, who is a vendor in that area. “She was brought by a rickshaw puller here. She didn’t want to leave the rickshaw as she was in a state of shock. I made her sit beside m
e and gave her something to eat. But she refused to tell her name and whereabouts,” Mina Das said. With the help of Child Line and Latasil Police Station, the girl was identified as Mousumi, and was later admitted to Ashadeep- a home for homeless and mentally ill women located at Serabbbhatti, Guwahati. Currently, the girl is under the custody of Child Line.
