India Vs West Indies Match preparedness meeting held at Barshapara Stadium

GUWAHATI: A meeting was held at ACA Stadium Barshapara, between District Administration, Assam Cricket Association, in the presence of various departments regarding infrastructure development issues on June 5, yesterday.

Deputy Commissioner Kamrup (M) Virendra Mittal presided over a review meeting on the preparation of the One Day International Cricket Match to be played between India and West Indies at Barshapara ACA Stadium in October.

Mittal reviewed all the ongoing works carried out by various departments like PWD (R), Water Resource, APDCL, GMC etc. He emphasized that all work should be completed one month before the match.

For the smooth conveyance of the spectators and the players, all roads leading to the stadium are to be refurbished.

Addressing the meeting, Mittal also stressed on the importance of widening of certain roads which are quite narrow and suggested APDCL officials remove the light posts which may be vulnerable for commuters.

Mittal also said that he will review the progress of the works every 15 days in which the officials will have to submit their progress report.
