Indian Detained In Bhutan For Climbing Atop Buddhist Monument
GUWAHATI: An Indian Tourist was detained by the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) for standing on a Buddhist religious monument in Bhutan’s Dochula area.
As per the tweets by ‘The Bhutanese’, the tourist is from Maharashtra identified as Abhijit Ratan Hajare who was part of a 15 bike convoy headed by a Bhutanese team leader.
According to the Bhutanese twitter handle, Hajare’s passport was seized by the RBP yesterday and he was allowed to stay in the hotel.
Meanwhile, the RBP has launched an investigation and Hajare was called in for questioning today.
