Indian Oil Assures Adequate LPG Availability
GUWAHATI: Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) released a clarification regarding the availability of domestic LPG in the market.
The corporation, in the release, stated that a section of the media reported that there is a possibility of scarcity of domestic LPG in the market due to a probable strike by the LPG transporters of North Guwahati Bottling Plant of IndianOil.
However, refuting such reports, IOCL stated that the company assures its consumers that adequate domestic LPG is available and there is no possibility of scarcity of domestic LPG as on date.
The management of IOCL also assured that there is no strike notice from any transporter. No steps have been taken by IndianOil management which jeopardizes the interests of the local people or LPG transporters in any way.
Addressing the issue, Chief General Manager & State Head of IndianOil in the North East G Ramesh said, “We have a transparent system of resolving complaints wherein people are encouraged to approach us with specifics, so that issues if any are resolved in a manner that is fair to all stakeholders.”
“So there is no question of shortage of Indane LPG and IndianOil will ensure that the supply chain is maintained. In fact, today the average time taken to deliver a refill in Assam has been reduced from 10 days to 2 days even though there were a lot of operational constraints during the lockdown. This is despite the fact that the demand for LPG has increased due to the 3 free LPG refills provided under the Pradhan MantriGarib Kalyan Yojna (PMGKY). Our LPG Bottling plants including North Guwahati are working additional shifts to ensure that all the demand in the market is met completely," said Ramesh.
