Indigo flights from Guwahati avert air collision near Dhaka border
GUWAHATI: A major air collision was averted on Thursday near Bangladesh between two Indigo flights which took off from Guwahati.
One flight was bound to Kolkata from Guwahati while the other was going to Chennai from Guwahati.
The incident allegedly occurred due to a signaling error by the Dhaka air traffic control (ATC). Further, the Kolkata ATC noticed the mistake and contacted Dhaka ATC, due to which the collision was averted.
According to reports, Kolkata ATC is planning to lodge a formal complaint with Dhaka authorities.
