Jahnu Barua, Rima Das nominated for ‘Best Director’ award at New York Indian Film Festival

GUWAHATI: Renowned filmmakers from Assam Jahnu Barua and Rima Das have been nominated for the ‘Best Director’ award at the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2019.

Jahnu Barua has been nominated for his film ‘Bhoga Khirikee’ (Broken Window) and Rima Das for ‘Bulbul can Sing’.

The esteemed film festival will stage its 19th edition in New York from May 7 to May 12.

It is to be mentioned that four films by Assamese filmmakers, including a documentary, will be screened at the upcoming edition of NYIFF.

The festival, dedicated to bringing these films to the audiences in New York, will screen a variety of films, including 29 narrative, three documentary and 32 short films.
