Locals of Merabil fail to identify Neha Sharma who died in Israel
GUWAHATI: In a latest development to the mystery surrounding the identity of Neha Sharma, who died in Israel, the locals of Merabil, Udalguri have failed to identify the deceased or her family. They also have no idea about the parents, Pushkar Raj Sharma and Tirath Sharma and hence have demanded an investigation to the matter.
Neha had moved to Israel five years back in an Indian passport for employment and had actually been illegally living in Israel for the past two years.
According to reports, Neha Sharma alias Jamuna Thapa, who originally hailed from Biratnagar, Nepal, had availed Indian passport with a purportedly fake birth certificate issued from Mazbat in Assam’s Udalguri district. She died in Israel’s Tel Aviv on 30 November and has left a question mark on the administration and locals of Merabil, Udalguri.
Based on the inputs provided by the Inspector General of Delhi Police, Robin Hibu, and the details mentioned on her passport, the locals of Merabil under Assam’s Udalguri have no knowledge of anyone by the name of Neha Sharma .
It is to be mentioned that as per the affidavit, submitted by Neha Sharma, at Noida in Uttar Pradesh when she was 33 years old, she had left to Israel to get engaged in a caregiver’s job.
According to the documents available, Neha Sharma was born on July 16, 1980 and her passport was registered as L637541 and it clearly mentions that, she was born in Merabil in Assam.
The Administration of Merabil is now confused as in how she managed to get a birth certificate from the local Primary Health Centre and how the police verification of her identity was verified while issuing the Indian passport.
