Lok Sabha 2019: 5 BJP MPs From Assam Dropped, Decides New Names

GUWAHATI: It is reported that the Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary Committee board has decided to drop out the names of five sitting MP’s for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election. 

The MPs are –Kamakhya Prasad Tasa from Jorhat, Rajen Gohain from Nagaon, Bijoya Chakravarty from Guwahati, Ramen Deka from Mangaldoi and RP Sharmah from Tezpur.

According to sources the party is likely to field Queen Ojha from Guwahati, Pradan Baruah from Lakhimpur, Rupak Sharma from Nagaon, Dilip Saikia from Mangaldoi, Topon Kumar Gogoi from Jorhat, Rameswar Teli from Dibrugarh, Rajdeep Roy from Silchar, Kripanath Mallah from Karimganj and Haren Singh Bey from Diphu.

It is to be mentioned that sitting Tezpur MP RP Sharmah has resigned from the BJP after reports surfaced that the Party will not provide a ticket to him for the upcoming Lok Sabha from Tezpur.
