Missing AN-32: ISRO and Navy join search operations
GUWAHATI: Indian Navy aircraft Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft P8i and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) satellites have joined the operation for locating the missing IAF AN-32 aircraft, according to a report by The Indian Express.
On Tuesday, June 4, ISRO also deployed its RISAT series of radar imaging satellites for the hunt.
The AN-32 aircraft went missing on Monday, June 3, with 13 persons on-board including crew and army personnel. It flew from Jorhat at 12:27 pm for Menchuka, Arunachal Pradesh and its last contact with the ground was at 1pm.
The aircraft, AN-32 is a Russian origin aircraft and the Indian Army Force (IAF) constitutes a sizable number of it.
