MPs from Assam meet PM Modi to discuss Assam flood situation
GUWAHATI: Several MPS from Assam, including Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament on Friday, July 19 to discuss the flood situation in Assam.
A total of 48 people have died because of the floods and landslides, according to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
As of July 18, a total of 4,128 villages in 103 revenue circles of 28 districts have been affected due to floods and over 53,52,107 people have been affected in the state.
It should be noted that more than 50 animals have also died due to the submerging of Kaziranga National Park (KNP).
