New Guwahati Airport To Have World Class Facilities

GUWAHATI: The upcoming new terminal building of Guwahati Airport will be the first of its kind in many aspects. 

Some of the broad features that will be included in the airport are that it will be the most sustainable airport terminal building comprising best sustainability features such as sewage treatment plant, solar, rainwater harvesting, solid waste disposal, energy-saving lightings etc.

The airport will also have a craft village of art in its departure security hold area – first of a kind such local art in India. Green forests and a plantation area will also feature inside the terminal building.

For passengers, it will have 10 passenger boarding bridges, 25 lifts, 10 elevators and 2 travelators.

It is to be mentioned that operators like Air India, Spice Jet, Indigo, Go Air, Vistara, Air Asia India, Drukair  and Pawan Hans Helicopters are presently operating with more than 75 flight movements per day and more than 1100 flights in a week.
