Governor of Assam Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Monday launched a campaign 'No Horn Please' at a function organised at the Raj Bhawan. The campaign which is a concept of a city based NGO has been launched for 90 days and will be replicated throughout the city.

The Governor hailed the campaign and said that the concept of the campaign is significant and it has the potential of checking the city’s growing noise pollution. He further appealed to all, particularly
the new generation, to assist the noble cause and keep the environment noise-free.

Speaking on the occasion the Governor said, "As there is no effective law for controlling noise pollution, the campaign would go a long way in tackling the menace."
