Now You Will No Longer Hear Amitabh Bachchan’s Voice as COVID-19 Caller Tune
GUWAHATI: India is all set for its first vaccine rollout for the novel coronavirus on the 16th of January. In the light of this, the caller tune featuring celebrity Amitabh Bachchan’s message on the virus has been replaced by a message on vaccines.
From Friday, 15th January, users will no longer hear the celebrity’s voice which listed the safety measures to be followed during the pandemic. This will be replaced by a female voice which will let people know about t
he Covid-19 vaccination drive.
This comes after growing concerns about COVAXIN, which is still in its Phase 3 trials, received approval from the government. Along with COVAXIN, Oxford University and AstraZeneca’s Covishield is also on the rollout.
The message reportedly starts with PM Modi’s famous “Dawaai bhi, Kaadai bhi” message.
Earlier this month, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Delhi High Court (HC), asking for the tune to be dropped and replaced with the voice of actual Covid-19 frontline warriors.
