Panbazar Police arrests 5 Fake Journalists

A gang of five people impersonating as journalists of a city based media house was today arrested by Panbazar Police for blackmailing and robbing a shop at Fancy Bazar.

The five have been identified as Sanjeeb Singh, Keshav das, Prithviraj Pareek, Mafijur Rahman, and Suraj Singh.

The apprehended gang forcefully entered the shop yesterday and demanded documents from the owners, threatening that they will expose about 'immoral activities' in the shop. The miscreants also looted an amount of Rs 5 lakh from the shop.

The owner of the shop, Manish Jain filed a complaint with the police, following which the mastermind Suraj Singh was arrested from Bhangagarh bridge yesterday at 11:30 PM. Police also arrested the other four members of the gang today.

Police have recovered Rs 5 lakh from their possession and are investigating if they are also involved in any other crimes.
