PM, CMs, Legislators Above 50 Years of Age to Take COVID-19 Vaccine in 2nd Phase
GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all state chief ministers, parliamentarians and state legislators above 50 years of age will take a jab of COVID-19 vaccine in the second phase of the drive launched last week.
All chief ministers, MPs and MLAs above 50 will also receive vaccines, national media outlets reported. The vaccine drive was launched on January 16 with healthcare workers and others at the frontline of the coronavirus fight rece
iving jabs of two vaccines - Serum Institute of India's Covishield and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin. In the second phase, it is the turn of those above 50 and people with co-morbidities to take shots.
Notably, Prime Minister Modi today had a video conference meeting with the beneficiaries and vaccinators. In his meeting with Chief Ministers before the drive, PM Modi had said they did not need to panic or rush to get vaccinated as they would get their turn in the second round.
