Police to file chargesheet in the APSC scam

Police officials have decided to file a chargesheet within a month in the APSC job scam. The 22 officials arrested in the scam so far have been sent to police custody for 14 days and a lookout notice has been issued for the three absconders who have been identified as Rumi Saikia, Nishamoni Deka, and Rakesh Gupta.

“Instead of starting the process of collecting evidence after arresting the accused, we have collected all the evidence before beginning to make the arrests. The chargesheet will be produced in court in the next 30 to 40 days. Some of the accused have partially admitted to their crime but their statements will not be counted as evidence in court. We want to know from them if there are more officials involved in the scam or more agents through whom the bribes were paid,” said a police official.
