Post PETA recognition, Zubeen Garg adopts a Cattle Egret Chick
GUWAHATI: After being conferred with the 'Hero to Animals Award' by PETA, Zubeen Garg takes his aspirations to save animals a notch above, by adopting a Cattle Egret Chick.
Cattle Egret is a cosmopolitan species of Heron, found in the tropics, sub tropics and warm temperature zones. It is a white bird adorned with buff plumes in the breeding season. It nests in colonies, usually near bodies of water and often with other wading birds.
The singer was recently into a massive controversy after raising his voice against animal sacrifice in temples. He made the statement during a Bihu performance at the Nilachal hill, after Bollywood actor Govinda made animal sacrifice in the temple.
The statement had stirred massive controversy with people codemning him as anti-religious. Many went on to say that Zubeen should not make such comments; since he is a singer, he should stick to his art only.
