Rahul Gandhi Files Nominations for his Second Seat from Wayanad in Kerala
GUWAHATI: Congress President Rahul Gandhi has filed his nomination to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Wayanad in Kerala. Rahul Gandhi landed in Wayanad with along his sister and AICC in-charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to file his nomination papers.
Congress’ chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that Rahul decision to fight from the Wayanad constituency was to send a message to the Southern States that the Congress respects their culture, language, and traditions and Rahul Gandhi will be the bridge between North India and South India.
The Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency has always been a stronghold of the Congress since 2009. In 2014 the seat was represented by late M I Shanavas who passed away on 21 November 2018.
This would his second seat in addition to his turf in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.
