Rs. 4.97 Cr Fine Collected by Assam Police from Covid Protocol Violators

GUWAHATI: Assam Police has collected a fine of Rs. 4,57,89,150 as violation fine and another Rs. 73,24,500  alone for not wearing mask. This was stated by Director General of  Police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta is a press conference today.

He mentioned that since the first lockdown on 25th March, 4777 people have been arrested for violation of Covid protocol and 35056 vehicles have been detained.

“We are constantly monitoring social media platforms and request people not to post any untoward posts during these trying times,” said DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said in a press interaction.

Assam Police has collected a fine of Rs. 4,57,89,150 as violation fine and another Rs. 73,24,500  alone for not wearing mask. This was stated by Director General of  Police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta is a press conference today.

“We urge the people to maintain the COVID protocols otherwise the police will have to take strict action. Every police personnel has been made aware of the protocols and take the necessary action against violators,“ he said.
