SC dismisses plea filed by Ex-BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav against EC decision
GUWAHATI: The Supreme Court on May 9 rejected a petition filed by former BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav that challenged the Election Commission's decision to reject his nomination for contesting the ongoing Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi.
The petition was filed by Tej Bahadur Yadav on May 6, after his nomination was cancelled by the Election Commission on the ground that the paperwork for the nomination was erroneous.
Dismissing Yadav's plea, a bench hea
ded by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, "we do not find any grounds to entertain the plea of Yadav."
Yadav was earlier sacked from BSF after he posted a video complaining about the food standard in 2017.
