Serum Institute of India Receives Covid-19 Vaccine Purchase Order From Govt at ₹200 Per Dose
GUWAHATI: The government of India has sent the purchase order for COVID-19 vaccines to Serum Institute of India, the Pune-based pharmaceutical firm confirmed on Monday.
The vaccine would be available at the price of ₹200 per dose, news agency ANI reported quoting officials.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the chief ministers of states regarding COVID19 vaccine roll-out.
"From 16th January we are start
ing the world's largest vaccination program. Two 'Made in India' vaccines have been given emergency use approval," PM Modi stated during the meeting.
Around 3 crore healthcare workers and frontline workers will be vaccinated in the first phase of vaccination. In the 2nd phase, those above 50 years and those under 50 years with co-morbid conditions will be vaccinated.
