Two Writers From Assam Conferred With Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar
GUWAHATI: The Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar was conferred to two writers from the state in a ceremony held on Sunday in Dibrugarh at DHSK (Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi) College.
The two awardees from the state included Dr Sanjib Pol Deka and Dr Rujab Muchahary who won the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in Assamese and Bodo languages respectively.
Dr Deka bagged the award for his collection of short stories 'Eipine Ki Aase?'. Deka is currently working at the Dibrugarh University as Assistant Professor in the Department of Assamese.
Further, Dr Rujab Muchahary was presented the award his story collection Sansri Arw Mwndangthini Mwkhang. Dr Muchahary teaches at the Department of Bodo, in Rangia College.
During the function, president of Sahitya Akademi, Chandrashekar Kambar, presented the award to 23 writers for excellence in literature in Indian languages.
