World Can Begin to Dream About End of Pandemic: WHO
GUWAHATI: In an address to the United Nation General Assembly’s first high-level session on the pandemic, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on 4th of December, said that positive results from COVID-19 vaccine trials imply that the world “can begin to dream about end of the pandemic."
The director also cautioned that while the virus can be stopped, “the path ahead remains treacherous.”
The pandemic has shown humanity at “its best and worst,” pointing towards “inspiring acts of compassion and self-sacrifice, breath-taking feats of science and innovation, and heart-warming demonstrations of solidarity, but also disturbing signs of self-interest, blame-shifting and divisions," he added.
